 note = {This study clarifies the process of how an Indonesian nurse who moved to Japan over 10 years ago has settled into his “life” as a non-Japanese resident. So far 8 interviews have been conducted. Some of the areas he has talked about are, confusion and problems settling into the Japanese work environment, feelings for family in his home country, a return to Indonesia and subsequent return to Japan, and how he started living with
his daughter. Using a TEM （Trajectory Equifinality Modeling） diagram, I show the transformation of life that arises from the material gathered from the interviews. I’ve found some common characteristics among foreign residents in recent years, but also simultaneously, one cannot ignore the diversity prevalent among non-Japanese residents.},
