Even among higher level and advanced learners, these seemingly basic and elementary words are mistakenly used. As an English instructor, one is challenged when having to explain the usages of these basic terms - especially their subtle nuances and differences. In this paper, I have chosen four verbs - ‘speak’, ‘talk’, ‘say’ and ‘tell’ because these words are at the core of English communication. A discussion of the problems and an example of handout worksheets are presented that may alleviate some of the problems encountered in the classroom. As an English teacher, I often struggle with teaching the usages of basic words, however, this challenge must be faced. It is hoped that the reader can apply some of the ideas in this material and share feedback in developing better pedagogy for the classroom.}, pages = {135--140}, title = {‘Speak‘, ‘Talk’, ‘Say‘, ‘Tell’ の用法に関する講義用資料の提案}, volume = {43}, year = {2021}, yomi = {カワシマ, キミ} }
