 note = {The purpose here is to report on the state of baru ibento （bar events） during the COVID-19 pandemic and resulting mitigation efforts by local governments. Here, the cases of “Sanda Bar” in Sanda city（ Hyogo pref.） and “Fukushima Bar” in Osaka city, Fukushima ward are introduced and the two points they have in common are discussed. We found that the baru ibento organizers for both events have implemented strict measures against the spread of COVID-19. A second point is that the event durations were extended in comparison to the scheduling of past baru ibento.
