Morita was asked to prepare a report for the Colonial Urban Planning Conference to be held at the Paris Colonial Exposition in 1931. It was a request to prepare a report on “habitation” and “aesthetics” in Korea and Taiwan. Morita declined the request, but the content of his lecture on the occasion of his visit to Taiwan in 1939 was an overview in response to the request.
