Generally, ordinary people practice folk religion under the instruction of qualified leaders belonging to established religious institutions. In the modern period, Korean folk religions as well as Shugendo, have been especially active on the Ikoma Mountains. But recently the activities of folk religions have declined in Ikoma; this is due to an increase in the elderly population and decreasing birth rate. Nevertheless, the activity at Shinteiji, a small temple at the foot of the mountains is lively. Reasons for this is the presiding priest has introduced rituals of foreign folk religions and techniques of a foreign traditional medicine into the activity of Shugendo, and these activities at Shinteiji have continued because the priest belongs to Kinpusenji temple, a major center of Shugendo practices. He often explains to the followers the doctrines of Shugendo based on the teachings of Buddhism. As a result his followers learn the way of daily life taught by Buddhism and participate in annual pilgrimages to Kinpusenji.}, pages = {45--65}, title = {都市周辺山地における民俗宗教の変容と継続 : 生駒山麓信貞寺における修験道の復興}, volume = {23}, year = {2015}, yomi = {オカオ, マサヒデ} }
